TUBES
CHARLIE HOLPER (LU)
Charlie Holper’s work stems from their interest in how rope moves and can be knotted. In doing so, Holper works very intuitively, drawing on memories from their childhood. The Tubes are tubes of old donated fabrics sewn together in a very simple way with a somewhat clumsy childlike aesthetic. Small motors are integrated into the installation to give movement to the work. The work originates on the spot, evokes wonder, and aims to bring the viewer back to his or her inner child.
Charlie Holper (1997, LU) obtained a Master of Fine Art during the Master programme MADTech at the Frank Mohr Institute in Groningen. If the child in them approves the work, they consider it ready for a large audience.
